Dean of Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Andrew Parnaby holds a BA (Queen锟絪 University), MA in History (Simon Fraser University) and a PhD (Memorial University) where he was a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and a Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies. Prior to joining CBU, he taught at Dalhousie University, University of Victoria and was a SSHRC Post-Doctoral Fellow at Saint Mary锟絪 University. He published 3 books including Secret Service: Political Policing in Canada from Fenians to Fortress America, with Reg Whitaker & Gregory S. Kealey, receiving the Canada Prize in the Social Sciences by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences and an Honourable Mention for the CHA锟絪 John A. Macdonald Prize. His current research is on deindustrialization in Atlantic Canada. He teaches social/political history, historiography, the Atlantic world in the age of sail and film. Dr. Parnaby won three distinguished teaching awards; two from 小猪视频in 2011/2016, and one from the Association of Atlantic Universities in 2017.
